Postdoc position in Solid State Physics group

We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in the condensed matter group of the Department of Theoretical Physics at the Jožef Stefan Institute (Ljubljana, Slovenia), supervised by Jernej Mravlje.

The main subject of the research is the electronic transport in correlated electron materials in a model and realistic setting.

The candidate should have a PhD in theoretical condensed matter physics and experience with numerical calculations. Working knowledge
in quantum impurity problems, dynamical mean-field theory, density functional theory is an advantage.

The appointment is for one year with possibility of renewal for an additional one or two years.

The group has a successful long-standing collaboration with the group of Antoine Georges at Collège de France (Paris) and the position will allow for extended work visits there.

The review of applications starts immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The applicants should send a CV, a statement of
research interests, a list of publications, and two letters of recommendation to jernej.mravlje@ijs.si

General information about the group and Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI): JSI is the main Slovenian research facility and is well connected to
University of Ljubljana. The group owns a dedicated cluster with several thousands modern computing cores and access to the Slovenian supercomputer center (HPC RIVR).

Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and known for a vibrant atmosphere in a small, easily manageable town (250.000 inhabitants).
The geographic location, in close proximity to Alps and Adriatic sea, is especially advantageous for outdoor activities.
