We are pleased to announce that the European Research Council (ERC) has selected dr. Denis Golež, a researcher at our Department, as a recipient of the prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant.
The project, titled “Meta-QMS” (Metastability in Quantum Materials and Simulators), has been awarded funding of approximately €2 million and will be carried out over a period of five years.
About the Project: The aim of the project is to develop a comprehensive theory for describing and predicting metastable phases in quantum materials and simulators. By combining phenomenological and microscopic approaches, this research will enable the development of new technologies, such as ultrafast switches, tunable lasers, and advanced quantum memory devices.
Departmental Success: With this achievement, the Department of Theoretical Physics confirms its excellence on a European scale, as this marks the third active ERC project at the Department. Dr. Golež joins dr. Zala Lenarčič and prof. dr. Lev Vidmar, who are also currently leading European Research Council projects.
Congratulations!
