Micro- and nanoplastics have emerged as persistent and pervasive pollutants, raising concerns across environmental and biological systems. In this talk, I will show how we can use ideas from soft matter physics, especially colloid and interface science, to better understand how these particles behave. We will look at how nano- and microplastics act like colloids and how their movement and interactions depend on their surface properties and the conditions around them.
